MAH BHMCT CET 2027 is an admission test for students who wish to take up undergraduate hotel management and catering technology courses in Maharashtra. Conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, the examination assesses candidates through questions covering English, reasoning, general awareness and computer basics.
Students preparing for the examination should understand the eligibility requirements, application procedure, fee structure, exam pattern and admission process. The following guide covers the major stages, from registration to college allotment through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

The following table provides a quick overview of the MAH BHMCT CET 2027, including its exam mode, duration, marking scheme and other key details.
The common CET framework also covers other programmes, including BCA, BBA, BMS, BBM and specified integrated courses. Admission eligibility depends on the particular programme and its applicable rules.
Candidates can use the following indicative timeline to plan their preparation and application activities.
These dates are planning estimates, not confirmed examination dates. The actual schedule may differ.
Candidates should meet the educational and nationality requirements applicable to the programme for which they are applying.
For BHMCT, the general eligibility framework includes:
● Educational qualification: Passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised board.
● Required score: A total of at least 45% is expected from candidates in the general category.
● Relaxation: A minimum of 40% aggregate marks applies to eligible Maharashtra State candidates belonging to the specified reserved categories, EWS and persons with disabilities, subject to the applicable rules.
● Appearing candidates: Students appearing for their qualifying examination may also be eligible to take the entrance test.
For BCA, BBA, BMS and BBM, qualifying requirements are governed by the admission policy applicable to the respective university and programme. Candidates should check that they satisfy the conditions for their intended course.
Fees for application processing are not uniform; they differ by candidate category.
Payment is made online through available options such as debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS, UPI and supported wallets. Applicable transaction charges may be additional. The application processing fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
The following steps allow candidates to finish their registration online:

6. Submit the fee online with any available payment option
7. Review the entries and submit the application.
8. Save your application number and confirmation page for any future requirement
Keep your login credentials and application number accessible, as they may be required to download the admit card and check examination-related updates.
While completing the application form, enter your name, date of birth, contact information and educational details carefully. Ensure that the information matches your supporting documents.
The registration process may involve Aadhaar authentication and APAAR ID verification through DigiLocker. Candidates should ensure that their relevant details are accurate and consistent.
The photo must be a colour image of 2 × 2 inches (50 × 50 mm), and its file size should fall between 100 KB and 5 MB. The image should show the full face clearly against a plain, light-coloured or white background.
Before final submission, check the spelling of your name, category details, photograph and academic information. Errors can create difficulties during verification or admission.
Keep the following documents and information ready:
● Recent passport-style photograph.
● Aadhaar details and valid identity information.
● APAAR ID details, where required.
● 0th and 12th marksheets or other related academic records
● Certificate of category and caste validity, as required
● Valid non-creamy layer certificate, where applicable.
● EWS certificate, if claiming the relevant category.
● PwD certificate, where applicable.
● Active mobile number and email address.
Some documents may be needed during CAP registration or admission rather than during the initial CET application. Keep the originals and any required digital copies available.
The admit card, also called the hall ticket, contains important examination details such as the candidate's name, roll number, test centre and reporting time. When it is published, candidates may download it using their exam login credentials.
Carry a printed hall ticket and an original, valid photo identity document to the examination centre. The name on the identity document should match the hall ticket. Candidates arriving after the permitted reporting time may not be allowed to take the test.
Read the instructions printed on the hall ticket before travelling to the examination venue.
The test uses objective-type questions, with four options for each question. The subject-wise distribution is as follows:
Candidates take the examination online, and the total time allowed is 120 minutes. Candidates should practise answering questions within the allotted time to improve both accuracy and speed.
Each correct answer carries one mark, giving the examination a maximum score of 100. There is no negative marking under this pattern.
Since incorrect answers do not attract a penalty, candidates can attempt questions they are unsure about after managing the questions they can solve confidently. However, they should avoid spending too much time on a single problem.
Make sure your study plan covers all four sections of the examination.
● Grammar and sentence structure
● Vocabulary and word usage
● Reading comprehension
● Basic language and verbal ability
● Logical and analytical reasoning
● Number and letter-based patterns
● Arithmetic reasoning
● Series, relationships and problem-solving questions
● National and international current affairs
● Indian culture and general awareness
● Trade and commerce
● Sports
● Scientific inventions and discoveries
● Fundamental computer terminology
● Basic computer operations
● Common hardware and software concepts
● Everyday computer and digital technology awareness
Follow these topics as a preparation guide, and practise questions for each area. Regular revision of current affairs and timed mock tests can help identify areas that need more attention.
After the entrance examination and result declaration, eligible candidates can proceed to the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), subject to the applicable admission rules. CAP manages merit preparation, option entry, seat allotment and admission-related activities.
These dates are indicative and may change.
1. CAP registration: Eligible candidates enter the required details and complete the counselling application.
2. Document verification: Candidates submit the required documents and confirm their applications.
3. Merit list: The provisional merit list allows candidates to review their position and raise grievances within the specified period. A final merit list follows.
4. Option form: Candidates select and arrange their preferred colleges and courses in order of preference.
5. Seat allotment: Seats are allocated according to merit, preferences, availability, category and applicable admission rules.
6. Admission confirmation: Candidates follow the allotment instructions, accept the offered seat where required and complete the institute's admission formalities.
Candidates should review each allotment carefully and understand the applicable rules for accepting, retaining or seeking an upgraded seat. Institute-level admission options, when available, may follow a separate schedule.
Preparing for MAH BHMCT CET 2027 involves more than studying for the entrance test. Candidates should understand the eligibility conditions, complete the application accurately, practise all four subject areas and prepare their documents for counselling.
Keeping track of the examination timeline and CAP stages can help students approach the admission process in an organised way and make informed college choices.
