ABOUT CUET PG EXAM:

The Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or NTA CUET PG, is an all-India level entrance exam that is being introduced for admission into PG programmes in Central and participating Universities. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from North East and from rural and other remote areas and help to establish better connect with the Universities. A single Examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities.

CUET PG 2025 ELIGIBILITY:


Candidates can check below the NIMCET 2025 eligibility criteria.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications / Computer Sciences/Mathematics/ or any Bachelor’s degree in Science stream with Mathematics as one of the subjects for at least four semesters. Candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) in the qualifying degree examination for General Category, 55% marks or 6.0 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) for EWS/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) for SC/ST candidates.

CET PG 2025 PAPER PATTERN:


Computer Science and Information Technology (SCQP09)

  • Question Paper which will have 75 questions.

  • All questions will be based on Subject-Specific Knowledge.

  • All questions are compulsory.

  • Questions will be Bilingual (English/Hindi)

Thinking and Decision Making:

  • Creative thinking, unfamiliar relationships, verbal reasoning, finding patterns trends and Assessment of figures & diagrams.

  • Geometrical designs &Identification

  • Selection of related letters / words / numbers /figures

  • Identification of odd thing / item out from a group

  • Completion of numerical series based on the pattern /logic

  • Fill in the blanks of the series based on the numerical pattern and logic of the series

  • Syllogisms (logic-based questions), Identification of logic & selection of correct answers based on the logic

Mathematics:

  • Theory: Concept of sets – Union, Intersection, Cardinality, Elementary counting; permutations and combinations. • Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions.

  • Algebra: Fundamental operations in algebra, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear /quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices.

  • Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola.

  • Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous function, differentiation of function, tangents and normal, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas.

Computer:

  • Operating System: Main functions of operating systems, Processes, Threads, Interprocess communication, concurrency, Synchronization, Deadlock, CPU scheduling, I/O scheduling, Resource scheduling. Deadlock and scheduling algorithms, banker’s algorithm for deadlock handling. Memory management and virtual memory. File Systems, I/O systems, DOS, UNIX and Windows.

  • Data Structure: Arrays and their Applications; Sparse Matrix, Stacks, Queues, Priority Queues, Linked Lists, Trees, Forest, Binary Tree, Threaded Binary Tree, Binary Search Tree, AVL Tree, B Tree, B+ Tree, B* Tree, Data Structure for Sets, Graphs, Sorting and Searching Algorithms; Hashing. Functions, Recursion, Parameter passing.

  • Digital Fundamentals: Data Types, Number Systems and Conversion, Complements, Fixed Point Representation, Floating Point Representation, Error Detection Codes, Computer Arithmetic - Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division Algorithms, Digital Computers, Logic Gates, Boolean Algebra, Map Simplifications, Combinational Circuits, Flip-Flops, Sequential Circuits, Integrated Circuits, Decoders, Multiplexers, Registers and Counters, Memory Unit.

CUET PG 2025 MARKING SYSTEM:


  • Candidates appearing for CUET PG exam 2025 must be familiar with the CUET PG marking scheme.

  • The CUET PG 2025 pattern helps the candidates understand the exam better.

  • The CUET PG exam 2025 consists of 4 marks to each question.

  • Candidates must be aware that there is negative marking in CUET PG exam, where 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

Applicants are advised to check CUET PG question pattern below:

  • The weightage of each question will be four marks

  • Each correct answer will be given 4 marks

  • Each incorrect answer will result in a negative marking of one mark.

  • There will be zero marks for unanswered questions.

  • The CUET PG 2025 total marks is 300.
