ABOUT NIMCET EXAM:

NIMCET or National Institute of Technology Master of Computer Applications Common Entrance Test is an exam conducted for admissions to MCA programmes. This entrance exam is conducted every year to offer admission into Masters in Computer Application (MCA) Programme in participating NITs.
Candidates have to clear the NIMCET MCA exam with a good rank, and based on their ranks they will be allotted seats at various campuses of NITs. Around 50,000 students register for NIMCET each year and approximately 805 seats are offered in 9 NITs across India. Many universities and institutes other than NITs consider NIMCET scores for admissions to the MCA programmes offered by them.

NIMCET 2025 ELIGIBILITY:


Candidates can check below the NIMCET 2025 eligibility criteria.

  • Candidates must be an Indian citizen

  • Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale in case of SC/ ST) in (i) BSc / BSc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time with Mathematics/Statistics/Equivalent subject as one of the subjects from a recognized University.

  • SC/ST candidates must have secured at least 55% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale in (i) BSc/BSc (Hons)/BCA/BIT of minimum 3 years full-time with Mathematics/Statistics/Equivalent subject as one of the subjects from a recognized University.

  • Students with BE/B Tech or equivalent from a recognized University can appear for the exam.

  • Aspirants who will be appearing for the qualifying examination can also apply for NIMCET 2025

  • Aspirants who have completed or completed a degree in three years BSc / BSc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT from Open Universities can also apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

  • The percentages of marks / CGPA in the qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks / grade points obtained in all the subjects studied in all the years including languages, optional and additional subjects studied, if any. The aggregate of marks / grade points secured in all the subjects in all the years computed using this method of calculation alone be considered by authority for deciding the NIMCET eligibility.

  • Each correctly answered question will be awarded full marks

  • Each wrongly answered question will lead to 25% negative mark.

NIMCET 2025 SELECTION PROCESS:


  • The counselling procedure of NIMCET 2025 will be organised to allot seats to exam qualified candidates based on rank obtained and choices of institute locked, seats availability and fulfilment of eligibility criteria by candidates

NIMCET 2025 REGISTRATION FEE:


  • Candidates will deposit NIMCET 2025 application fee through online mode.

  • The non-refundable application processing fee will be submitted using debit card/credit card/net banking payment gateways.

  • The Application fee will be of Rs. 2500/- for Open/ Open-EWS/ OBC Category and Rs.1250/- for SC/ ST/ PwD Category.
