Though there is no prescribed Syllabus for CAT acknowledged by IIM, It is observed that questions are from three important sections namely

The CAT exam is 120 minutes long, with an additional 40 minutes granted to PwD candidates for better accessibility. For the non MCQ(TITA) questions answer should be typed using on-screen keyboard. From a section candidate will be able to move to the next section only after completing 40 minutes.

It is important to cover all the sections because there are separate cut offs for each sections. Timetable must be prepared as well as Time management must be attained.

You only need to pay the CAT registration fee once, no matter how many IIMs or B-schools you’re applying to.
I. Create a unique User ID and password to initiate your CAT 2025 application process.
II. Use your User ID and password to log in and complete the CAT 2025 application form.
III. Submit Application form.

Admit cards for eligible candidates will be generated and available to be downloaded only from the CAT website (https://iimcat.ac.in), using the CAT application login id and password, from November 2025.

The provisional CAT 2025 answer key is expected to be published in November 2025. The CAT answer key and candidate response sheet shall be available through login. The window closes by December 2026.
You can download your CAT 2025 scorecard from the official CAT website once results are announced. Candidates may also be intimated individually by SMS. The CAT results are likely to be declared by the second week of January, 2026. CAT 2025 scores remain valid up to December 31, 2026 and can be accessed online during this period.

The criteria for shortlisting vary across IIMs. Each IIM will publish its list of shortlisted candidates on its official website.
Shortlisted applicants will receive interview calls directly from the respective IIMs.
The next level of process may include:
1. Writing Ability Test (WAT)
2. Group Discussion (GD)
3. Personal Interviews (PI)
Apart from CAT scores, IIMs may consider other factors such as academic records, work experience, Gender and diversity.
Every IIM follows its own admission process, with distinct academic cut-offs and selection weightages.
Final-year students must submit their degree certificates or mark sheets by December 31, 2026, to confirm their admission.
