ABOUT CLAT EXAM:

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level examination for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs in India. Every year, the CLAT exam is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). The CLAT 2025 exam date is December 1. The CLAT exam date was released by the consortium on its official website. The CLAT entrance exam 2025 will take place offline from 2 to 4 p.m. The CLAT 2025 Application Process is set to start on July 1. However, the consortium has yet to announce the CLAT 2025 application form release date. The consortium is scheduled to release the comprehensive CLAT Notification 2025 very shortly. The CLAT application window 2025 can be accessed via the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2025:


  • Candidates are advised to check the CLAT 2025 eligibility criteria before filling out the CLAT Application Form.

  • The UG exam is the entrance examination for Undergraduate Courses i..e, Bachelor of Legislative Law. Here is the eligibility that one must satisfy to apply for the 5 year BA LLB program.

  • There will be no upper age limit for UG, however, candidates who have passed 10+2 can apply.

  • As per the CLAT Notification 2025 Candidates must have secured Forty-five percent (45%) marks in 10+2 or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories; Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

  • Candidates who are appearing for the 12th examination in March/April 2025 are also eligible to appear in the examination. However, they shall be required to produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission.

Eligibility for PG Program:


  • The PG exam is conducted for candidates aspiring to secure admission for Post Graduation courses i.e., Master of Law in top Law Universities. Here is the list of criteria to be followed by candidates for the PG Exam.

  • There is no upper age limit for the PG Program.

  • Candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories must have a minimum of Fifty percent (50%) of marks in LLB degree or its equivalent grade.

  • According to the CLAT Notification, Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories must have Forty-Five percent (45%) of marks in LLB degree or its equivalent grade.

  • It is important that the aspirant must have cleared their final semester or final year of the qualifying paper on the admission date.

CLAT 2025 Exam Pattern:


Candidates preparing for the CLAT exam need to follow the official syllabus and pattern to meet the requirements of the test. The CLAT syllabus is broadly divided into five sections. The question paper of CLAT 2025 will also have five sections. These sections are listed below.

  • English Language

  • Current Affairs, including General Knowledge

  • Legal Reasoning

  • Logical reasoning

  • Quantitative Techniques

CLAT Syllabus 2025 - Subejct-wise distribution of marks

CLAT 2025 MARKING SYSTEM:


  • Multiple-Choice Questions: 120 questions of one mark each

  • Negative Marking : 0.25 Mark for each wrong answer

CLAT 2025 SELECTION PROCESS:


The CLAT selection process 2025 will comprise of the following stages:

  • Written test

  • CLAT Counselling.

Note that you will be shortlisted for the counseling round based on your scores in the CLAT 2025 written exam.
