CMAT 2026 Application Guide: Step-by-Step Complete Registration Process


The CMAT 2026 notification is out, and it's time to buckle up! With the examination scheduled for the last week of January 2026 (Tentative), the registration window is your first critical step toward securing a seat in a top MBA college.

Filling out the CMAT application form requires attention to detail. We've broken down the complete registration process into a simple, step-by-step guide based on the official procedure, so you can submit your application without a single error.

CMAT Registration Process 2026


The entire application process is divided into three main stages: CMAT Registration, Application Form Filling, and Fee Payment.

Step 1: Online Registration

This is the foundation of your application. Accuracy is paramount, especially for your name, date of birth, and contact information

1. Go to the Official Website: Navigate to the CMAT official portal and click on the 'Registration for CMAT 2026' tab.

2. New Registration: Click on 'New Registration' to start the process. Read the detailed instructions and fee structure, and check the declaration box.

3. Enter Personal Details: Fill in your personal information, including:

○ Your Name
○ Father's Name
○ Mother's Name
○ Date of Birth and Gender
○ A Valid Email Address and Phone Number (These are critical for all official communication and OTPs. Do not make any mistakes here.

4. Create Password: Choose a secure password, select a security question, and note down your auto-generated Application Number. Your registration is now complete.

Step 2: Complete the Application Form

After successful registration, you will move on to fill in the rest of your details.

A. Personal Details & Category

● Nationality and State/Union Territory of residence.

● Category: Select your category (General/OBC-NCL/SC/ST/EWS). Mandatory: Ensure you have the necessary documents required for cmat form filling including category documents/certificates ready, as they will be required during the admission process

● Other details like PWD status, diabetic status, and family income.

B. Identity Type Details

● You must select a valid photo identity proof. Options include: Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Passport, or Ration Card.

● Enter the corresponding number for the document you select (e.g., your PAN Card number).

C. Exam City Preferences

● You are required to select four city options for your test center.

● It is best to choose your own State and City as the first preference, followed by nearby cities/states.

D. Parent's Occupation and Qualification

● Fill in the occupational and qualification details for your Father/Guardian and Mother.

E. Qualification Details

● Fill in your academic details (10th, 12th, and Graduation).

● 10th & 12th: Enter the Passing Status (Pass/Appearing), Year of Passing, Board/University Name, Result Mode (Percentage/CGPA), and the Total/Obtained Marks for percentage calculation.

● Graduation: Select your Stream, Status (Pass/Appearing). If you are in the final year, select 'Appearing' and the expected Year of Passing (e.g., 2026).

F. Document Upload

You must upload your photograph and signature in the specified format:

● Photograph:
○ Format: JPG/JPEG
○ Size: 10 KB to 200 KB

● Signature:
○ Format: JPG/JPEG
○ Size: 10 KB to 50 KB

Step 3: Final Submission and Fee Payment


1. Review and Final Submission: Before clicking the final submission button, take a moment to review every section. Use the left-hand menu bar to edit any mistakes.

2. Verify Email: Your email ID must be verified before payment. You will receive an OTP on your registered email address. Enter the OTP to verify.

3. Payment: You will be directed to the payment gateway to pay the application fee

4. Confirmation Page: After successful payment, download and save the Confirmation Page. This is proof of your submission and is essential for future reference.
